IBGE data revealed that 36% of workers receive only up to 1 minimum wage. In addition, of these, almost 10 million receive up to 1/2 the minimum wage.

Thus, a large part of the population is hostage to the values defined by the government. And, since 2020, the number of people receiving 0 to 1 minimum wage has increased, causing the number to become higher than the number of people receiving 1 to 2, according to March 2022 data from IBGE and PNAD.

An amendment for the minimum wage to increase to R$1,300 from July this year, created by Senator Jorge Kajuru (Podemos/Goiás), was not accepted.
